The National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Overall Group was established

        Recently, the National Standardization Administration issued a notice on the establishment of the National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Overall Group, and announced the list of 43 group leaders, deputy group leaders, consultants and expert members of the overall group.

        It is understood that the leader of the National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization Overall Group is Zhao Xiangeng, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, vice chairman of the Environmental and Resources Committee, former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; there are 4 deputy group leaders, namely, Nie Zuoren, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Beijing University of Technology, and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Yu Xinli, chairman and researcher of the China Standardization Association; Zhao Penggao, deputy director of the Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission; Li Zhiping, vice president of the China National Institute of Standardization. Consultants include Du Xiangwan, former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 5 others. The experts include 34 people including Ma Lincong, director of the special committee and researcher of the China Society of Technology and Economics.

        The notice clearly states that the National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization General Group is responsible for proposing suggestions for building my country's carbon peak and carbon neutrality standard system, guiding the formulation of national standards (standard samples), standard application implementation, and standard internationalization, coordinating technical suggestions for relevant standards, and providing support for the technical consistency of standards (standard samples) related to carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

        The National Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Standardization General Group should explore and form effective working mechanisms and models in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Guidelines for the Construction of the Standardization General Group", continuously summarize experience, strive to promote the implementation of relevant work, and give full play to the basic and leading role of standardization in achieving the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
