Marine environmental protection issues have long been paid attention to by all walks of life, and actions have begun to be taken. Recently, IKEA has cooperated with the World Surf League and famous surfers Kassia Meador and Rob Machado to launch the KÅSEBERGA series of products. The design of this series focuses on practical functions, recyclable materials and a lifestyle that advocates recycling.

Most of the products in the KÅSEBERGA series are made of recycled polyester fibers, while other products are made of recyclable materials such as bamboo and cork. The KÅSEBERGA series covers a total of 26 products, suitable for home life or other scenes with life needs. These include human surfing handboards, beach chairs, portable barbecue grills, coffee tables and bags designed for beach cleanup.

“We design and produce our products using sustainably sourced wood, natural fibres and recycled materials. At IKEA, we stopped selling single-use plastics a few years ago and have recently introduced rechargeable batteries to our customers,” said James Futcher, IKEA’s Director of Product Development.

“It’s been a great opportunity for the World Surf League to collaborate with IKEA designers on sustainable products for the KÅSEBERGA collection,” said Cherie Cohen, Chief Revenue Officer of the World Surf League. “IKEA’s sustainability initiatives align with the vision of the World Surf League and our followers. We are confident that these products, made from recycled and renewable materials, will be loved by surfers, ocean lovers and design enthusiasts.”
