Amcor launches first all-polyethylene spout bag

Source:     Time: 2024-03-13

Amcor, a leading global developer and manufacturer of packaging solutions, has teamed up with Stonyfield Organic, a leader in organic yogurt, and Cheer Pack North America, a leader in spout pouch packaging, to launch the first all-polyethylene (PE) spout pouch with excellent heat resistance, water and oxygen barrier properties.

Single material structure, good heat resistance

The new package abandons the previous multi-layer composite structure and adopts Amcor's AmPrima Plus technology, a full polyethylene PE structure composite film, combined with Cheer Pack North America's Vizi lid design. Although the new package eliminates the aluminum foil layer in the conventional nozzle bag structure, it still performs well, with good heat resistance and flat and stable after the nozzle is inserted. At the same time, the amount of plastic used in the lid has also been significantly reduced, by more than five tons.

Good water and oxygen barrier and sealing performance

This all-polyethylene (PE) spout bag packaging not only has excellent printing adaptability, positive water and oxygen barrier performance, but also has a highly durable sealing design around the spout, and the packaging can also show the best performance in harsh environments. In addition, the packaging is fully adapted to the standard line speed of Cheer Pack North America's conversion line and Stonyfield Orqanic's filling line, realizing an efficient production process.

This collaboration brings together three leaders in the field of sustainable development to innovatively launch this new all-polyethylene (PE) spout bag solution, providing packaging that performs the same as traditional spout bags but is more environmentally friendly.
