Sports footwear company Xtep Group released an environmentally friendly windbreaker with 100% polylactic acid content, further implementing the company's green and sustainable strategy by using biodegradable and environmentally friendly materials.

Since the launch of Xtep's environmental technology platform and the world's first polylactic acid windbreaker in June 2020, Xtep has continuously overcome technical difficulties and increased the polylactic acid content in its products for three consecutive years. Xtep has overcome the technical difficulties of low-temperature dyeing and achieved the mass production of polylactic acid garments for the first time.

It is understood that if all fabrics are replaced with polylactic acid, Xtep can save more than 3 million tons of steam and 300 million cubic meters of natural gas each year, which is equivalent to the consumption of 2.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and 620,000 tons of coal.

The official launch of the 100% polylactic acid environmentally friendly windbreaker released this time means that it truly comes from nature and returns to nature. In addition to continuously increasing the content of polylactic acid in products, it can be more widely used in summer short T-shirts and other categories.

Mr. Ding Shuibo, Chairman and CEO of Xtep Group, said: "Xtep actively responds to the national '3060' plan and empowers products through technology. Xtep has worked with the Social Responsibility Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council to measure the carbon footprint of two T-shirts, and the data will be announced at the end of the year. We will spare no effort to assume corporate social responsibility through practical measures, promote green development, and promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and man and all things. "He also mentioned that the group will release Xtep's bio-based environmentally friendly concept shoes in November 2022, using palm oil instead of petroleum used in previous production as the main raw material. So far, Xtep's bio-based materials have penetrated from clothing to footwear, and will continue to expand the categories of application.
