Most toothpaste tubes on the market are made of aluminum-plastic composite materials, which are not easy to recycle and eventually end up in landfills. In order to solve this problem, Dow worked closely with Amcor, a leading global flexible packaging manufacturer, to create a high-barrier, recyclable all-plastic toothpaste tube solution that can be quickly mass-produced with high-performance polyethylene material technology and rich packaging manufacturing experience.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) officially released its "dual carbon" action plan. Through the partnership with Mondi and its EcoSolutions program, Kao has reduced its use of plastic by 80%.

Covestro is working with Fairphone, a Dutch company committed to building an environmentally friendly smartphone market, to provide more circular material solutions for its smartphones. The Fairphone 4 parts made from Covestro's post-consumer recycled (PCR) polycarbonate materials include the back cover, middle frame and wireless charger.

Environment Canada has issued regulations to ban single-use plastics in the country. Canada's Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault and Minister of Health Jean-Yves Duclos issued regulations to ban single-use plastics, including checkout bags, cutlery, food service utensils made of or containing hard-to-recycle plastics, ring carriers, stirrers and straws (with some exceptions).
