Asahi Kasei, a diversified Japanese multinational company, and NTT DATA have jointly established a platform to grasp the greenhouse gas emissions of various grades of high-performance plastics used as molding materials for automotive parts, consumer electronics, etc. and calculate the carbon footprint (CFP) of the products. Applicable high-performance plastic products are Leona™, Tenac™, Tenac-C™, Xyron™ and Thermylene®. The platform will be put into use in April 2022, and the work of providing CFP data to customers will start in May 2022.

Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, said it has partnered with consumer goods company Danone to launch a 100% recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle for its Villavicencio water brand in Argentina. The new label-free bottle is made from 100% recycled material and reduces the carbon footprint by 21% compared to the previous bottle.
