Recently, Ascend and its Circular Polymers™ by Ascend exhibited at the Compounding World Expo North America, focusing on the Circular Polymers™ and ReDefyne™ recycled product series.
Circular Polymers™ by Ascend has a leading proprietary process and a production facility located in California, which recycles and regenerates post-consumer carpet waste into fibers and particles. The product series includes polymers such as polyamide 6 (PA6) and polyamide 66 (PA66), polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP) and calcium carbonate, providing high-quality, sustainable raw materials for downstream applications such as injection molding and modification, achieving excellent recycling benefits. Maria Field, business director of Circular Polymers™ by Ascend, said: "Recycling carpet can be so efficient, and our proprietary process allows us to convert waste that would otherwise be sent to landfills into raw materials to produce high-performance materials for use in automotive and electric vehicles, home furnishings, electronic and electrical products, and more."
As an integrated upstream and downstream high-performance engineering materials manufacturer, Ascend has launched the ReDefyne™ recycled polyamide product line, which is made of post-consumer recycled PCR materials and pre-consumer recycled PIR materials. It can be customized according to customer requirements, with a recycled raw material usage rate of up to 100%, and can maintain reliable and excellent performance even in harsh application environments, achieving a low carbon footprint.
At the end of 2022, Ascend acquired a majority stake in recycled material producer Circular Polymers, firmly committed to the sustainable development strategy and leading PA66 innovation. Circular Polymers™ by Ascend officially launched the Cerene™ certified recycled product series this year, continuing the company's development strategy to bring high-performance recycled polymers such as PA6, PET and PP to the market based on PA66. Since its establishment in 2018, Circular Polymers™ has converted approximately 40,000 tons of waste that would have been sent to landfills into new products. Circular Polymers™ has received multiple industry recognitions for its innovative technology, including the Plastics Industry Sustainability Innovation Award, the Plastics Recyclers Association Innovation Award, the California Product Stewardship Council Award, and the Carpet Recycling Processor Award.
Maria Field emphasized: "The global market is looking for consistent and reliable post-consumer recycled materials. Cerene™ is born out of this demand. Our unique physical recycling process can minimize carbon footprint and environmental impact."
Responsibility (empowering people), innovation (innovating solutions), and perseverance (operating without compromise) are the three pillars of Ascend's sustainable development strategy, and we always practice sustainable development strategies in every aspect. Ascend is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and recently announced progress towards the nine goals of its 2030 Sustainability Vision, including a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas scope 1 emissions, a 40% waste diversion rate in manufacturing operations, and two achievements in reducing the carbon footprint of products.
