SABIC launches lightweight PP for foldable logistics turnover boxes

        Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) recently cooperated with Cabka, an innovative logistics recycling packaging company, to launch the new generation of foldable logistics turnover box CabCube4840.

        According to reports, in less than 6 months, the two companies have cooperated to develop several high-performance polypropylene compounds. These composite solutions can improve the processing performance of logistics boxes, enhance their strength and impact resistance, and reduce weight. Some of these materials are unique grades in SABIC's foam and lightweight product portfolio. They are flame retardant, halogen-free and UL94-V0 certified.

        The two companies also collaborated on polyolefin compound solutions containing mechanically recycled content. Both parties expressed the hope that through cooperation, SABIC's logistics packaging system will be improved, starting from SABIC's compounding plant in Belgium, replacing "one-way" wooden pallets and cardboard boxes with lightweight, recyclable plastic packaging.

With the support of SABIC, our sustainable logistics turnover boxes are more reliable and safer than existing solutions on the market.”
